Angus M. McBryde, Jr. M.D., FACS

Professional Affiliations
Professional activities include numerous committee assignments with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Association. He was President of the Southern Medical Association in 1994, the North Carolina Orthopaedic Society 1994-1996. He has been Alternate Delegate to the American Medical Association and a Member of the Board of Directors of the Medical Mutual Insureance Company of North Carolina.

Education Endeavors
Dr. McBryde received his M.D. from Duke University in 1963.
After two years of surgery residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania he served two years in the US Navy including a year in Vietnam. He returned to Duke for a residency in orthopaedic surgery in 1967-1971.

Personal Life
Dr. McBryde is married to Kay Kirkpatrick McBryde. They have eight grown children and sixteen grandchildren. A lifetime running and fitness enthusiast, he has run the Boston Marathon and numerous other marathons and road races.
